Trimble's SX12 provides a warning if the tripod moves during scanning, the scanning operation of the instrument creates inertial reaction forces, even popular brand name tripods move, however Commander Group's tripod was very stable, no alarms were set off, the tripod didn't move, we have found our preferred tripod. The upper leg clamps were a custom option, we added some additional felt so the clamps gripped the legs tightly, we are very happy with this tripod.
